The result is contemporary interpretations of traditional wooden toys, as well as really innovative wooden toys with which SINA® is bringing a new focus to the tradition of wooden toys. Ultimately these are the decisive factors that determine the attractiveness of our products and that support children’s development. In our designs the most important thing is individual inspiration. We believe in our ideas and this is what motivates designers, educationalists and writers to collaborate with us. And it is the close, direct connection to Friedrich Fröbel, founder of the first kindergarten, and his sets of Gifts that we incorporate into the development of our toys. The wealth of invention they provide is immense, turning spheres, cylinders, cubes and their parts into objects to be played with.

An ancient idea reinvented.
The production of wooden building blocks, followed later by Fröbel play materials, started in the Erzgebirge in 1850. And from the very beginning, maintaining the Erzgebirge tradition of making sets of building blocks was one of the partners’ main reasons for founding the company.
The ‘Spiel- und Holzwarenfabrik S.F. Fischer’ company in Oberseiffenbach had a major influence on the beginnings of the Erzgebirge tradition of making sets of building blocks. In 1850 they started producing sets of wooden building blocks and a few years later play materials following the ideas of Friedrich Fröbel, as well as building and tile-based games. Sets of building blocks, building and tile-based games, and teaching materials from ‘S.F. Fischer’ received international diplomas, awards and recognition, and document its importance as the first toy factory in the whole history of German sets of building blocks. Production at this location ended in 1990.
We are deeply committed to the educational ideas of Friedrich Fröbel and his play and activity materials, which today are widel y accepted throughout the world.
Educators and promoters of the Fröbel method still work together with us in order to give our products the credibility they merit.
Simple shapes in the bright colours of the rainbow run like a common thread through our collection of toys. Cheerful colours are more appealing and encourage curiosity. They stimulate children to grasp, touch and build… using all their senses. They promote creativity and give children their first feeling for aesthetics.
